Job Description
The Medical Assistant supports the operation of the Residential Group Home department by coordinating client medical appointments, liaising with the Residential Nurse and healthcare providers, and maintaining accurate documentation and filing of appointment records.
DUTIES:
Facilitate interagency communication, including collaboration with Day Rehabilitation Services, to ensure client needs are met.
Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, and completing forms as needed.
Manage and schedule client medical appointments, routinely transporting clients to appointments and other necessary locations.
Administer client medications as required.
Maintain both manual and electronic filing systems.
Collaborate with the Residential Nurse to ensure appointments and health needs comply with ICF/IDD regulations.
Prepare and document appointment details, ensuring proper follow-up on health care needs in coordination with the Residential Nurse.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the agency and the well-being of residents/clients.
