Position Description :

Serco offers an exciting internship opportunity to our Executive-sponsored Environmental Social Governance (ESG) program, which is responsible for leading Serco’s commitment to positive contributions in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) domains. The ESG/Sustainability Intern will work out of our Herndon, VA or Virginia Beach, VA headquarters on a hybrid schedule. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is innovative and driven by environmental stewardship and has an interest in regulatory compliance/governance.

As the ESG/Sustainability Intern, you will focus your support on the Environmental and Governance aspects of ESG.

In this role, you will:

Conduct ongoing analysis of environmental impacts on our North American business.

Research and propose social responsibility and sustainability solutions to enhance Serco’s social and environmental sustainability stewardship.

Assist with establishment and implementation of Data Privacy and Protection governance protocols and research.

Assist in the preparation of reports, graphs, proposals, studies, and correspondence.

Innovate Social and Environmental Sustainability awareness and action campaigns.

Research industry standards for data privacy and protection and environmental performance.

Share research with our North American and Global leadership.

Work closely with Senior Leaders and report directly into the VP of ESG and indirectly to the Senior Managers of Environmental and Risk Management.

Qualifications :

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A High School Diploma/GEDOr currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Preferred fields of study: Environmental Studies, Business Sustainability, or a related field of study

Ideal candidates are current college juniors or seniors

Additional desired experience and skills:

Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel

Effective written communication, and interpersonal skills

Attention to detail and strong ability to assess and interpret compliance standards

Self-motivated with a strong work initiative

Energy and drive

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $36,536.16 to $54,804.24; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
