ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB’s Watertown, MA office is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities
Assist engineers with the creation of new design plans
Perform engineering design of highway, pedestrian, and railroad bridges and other structures
Preparation of specifications, reports, and final bid packages
Calculate quantities and develop construction cost estimates
Assist in the field with bridge inspections (desirable) and load ratings
Skills and Attributes
Must possess strong technical skills
Use engineering design and CAD software in the preparation of plan documents
Excellent attention to detail, strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
0-1 year of engineering experience and possess a broad understanding and technical skills in bridge design
