POSITION SUMMARY:

The goal of the Field Service Technician I position is to provide excellent customer support for Tarian customers and their mission. This position completes repairs, service work, and preventive maintenance on customer’s medical equipment in accordance with established Tarian policies and procedures. The Field Service Technician I works with a high degree of autonomy and provides a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities:

You will conduct the following responsibilities, upholding HSS’s commitment to safety and security while supporting the values and culture of the client and community.

Operates computer terminal equipment, radio, telephone, and other transmitting and receiving equipment.

Answers emergency and non-emergency telephone calls for security, police, fire, ambulance, and other requests.

Makes decisions as to type of call, correct response, and responsible agency to respond to incident.

Evaluates information to determine the best resource, equipment, and personnel to be dispatched.

Transmits appropriate information to correct personnel as required.

Studies, and maintains, familiarity with major streets, roads, public buildings, industrial plants, and the general geographic location of cities and landmarks in Lane  County.

Aware of all hospital locations, fully acquainted with the locations of departments, employees, parking, and resources available to the public and staff.

 Dispatches and monitors appropriate emergency public safety activities

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

21+ years old

Valid Drivers' License

High School Diploma or GED

At least one year of full-time law enforcement dispatcher work or similar experience, independently performing the full range of duties for call taking and radio dispatching duties within the last 5 years. OR At least one year of full-time security dispatch experience in a hospital setting, independently performing the fulltime range of call taking and radio dispatching duties while adhering to rules, regulations, and safety guidelines within the last 5 years.

All applicants are expected to successfully pass a cognitive and situational test, demonstrating that there is a solid competency for the position.

Skills:

Must have good etiquette in all communications, clean appearance, and be organized.

Must follow both written and verbal directions and updated hospital administrative policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Must prioritize and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Must be able to use computers for typical work tasks, data entry, logging events, document generation, footage reviews, and badge access audits, etc.

Must be able to investigate incidents utilizing all available reports and resources.

Must be able to run diagnostics on technical issues while placing work orders in real-time for the hospital, security systems, and communications.

Must provide excellent customer service while adhering to rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.

Must be able to maintain composure and work effectively in stressful situations.

Must be able to work effectively and in a professional and respectful manner when interacting with diverse members of the public.
