Overview:

This position will support histology laboratory operations including organization and maintenance of documents, inventory, and machinery.

Responsibilities:

Corporate

Follow SOPs and other applicable laboratory or company procedures

Maintain confidential information consistent with Inotiv corporate policy

Demonstrate Inotiv Core Values

Interact with clients, other employees, and the community in a professional manner

Support and participate in company initiatives

Specific

Document all study and laboratory activities as required for compliance

Perform preventative maintenance, monitoring, and calibration of laboratory equipment as assigned, troubleshooting issues as needed

Operate and maintain slide stainer and cover-slipper

Operate and maintain tissue processors

Operate and maintain cassette printer

Operate and maintain slide printers

Operate and maintain chemical recycler

Pre-label tissue cassettes and slides

Assist in preparing forms / equipment logs

Receive incoming histology materials and purchased products as needed

Unpack and examine histology samples/materials received, verify against packing slips, complete inventories/logs as necessary and place in established locations

Label Histology supplies and maintain inventories

Package study materials and label boxes as required

Maintain stock reagents, chemicals and materials as needed

Assist in managing hazardous waste and central accumulation area

Perform general housekeeping related tasks as assigned

Follow all company safety requirements

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and experience

High School Diploma or GED, lab experience preferred

Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Required experience must also reflect the Skills and Responsibilities outlined below

Skills and abilities

Attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to multitask, be detailed orientated and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with the minimal supervision

General Microsoft office skills and the ability to learn new laboratory software

Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with team members, pathologists and other Inotiv staff members

Maintain quality standards while adhering to deadlines

Ability and desire to learn new methods or workflows

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level. This is a non-exempt role paying $22-25/hour.
