Short Description:

   

    The Lead Radiation Therapist position has the responsibility of a staff radiation therapist:     

     Therapists will deliver radiation treatment to patients following the physician prescription and dosimetry plan.

     Therapists must have knowledge of the linear accelerators and electronic charting.

      Charge entry for billing is required.

      Provide education and emotional support to patients and family members. 

      Scheduling patients and staff. 

      The Lead Radiation Therapist will also be responsible for:

     Reviewing schedules in advance to ensure a smooth workflow.

      Ensuring that staff radiation therapists adhere to policy and procedure among departmental and hospital related policy and         procedure. Any disciplinary concerns will be reported to the Chief Radiation Therapist.

      Validating the completion of initial start and end of daily operations.

Assist Chief Therapist in maintaining compliance of all hospital policies and initiatives.



Experience Required:

Minimum of 3 years' experience as a staff radiation therapist.      

Continuing education as per ARRT requirements.

Education Requirements:

Required: Graduate of a JCERT approved program in Radiation Therapy.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in science  , Business or a related field.

License/Certification Requirements:

Current ARRT - NJ state licensure in Radiation Therapy.
