Position Summary:
As a Hot Prep Cook, you will prepare all hot food items for both patient and non-patient food services. You will follow production plans and recipes as assigned by the Executive Chef, Food & Nutrition Supervisor, or Production Leader.
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
Ability to read, recognize, and differentiate between words and series of numbers
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
Licensure/Certification:
None required
Experience:
Six (6) months of fast food production or kitchen food production
Essential Functions:
Assist with tray assembly, preparation of special diet needs (puree meals, supplements, or non-patient services)
Know basic food preparation techniques including receiving, storing, preparation, and holding of food items
Demonstrate a working knowledge of food service sanitation and infection control procedures, including HAACP guidelines
Communicate effectively with the Executive Chef, Food and Nutrition Supervisor, Group Leaders, and food service team peers
Show a willingness to assist in other areas of the kitchen (e.g., cold prep, bakery, store room, café serving line, dish room, or tray line)
Comply with hospital standards, policies, and procedures
Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and legal standards
