Overview:
Position: TRC is seeking a highly motivated Construction Inspector in Design Management Services (DMS) to assist in providing project support for the daily field construction inspections for projects designed by TRC. The ideal candidate will also be enthusiastic to work with engineers, project managers, clients/owners, and other technical staff in the review/interpretation of drawings, designs, figures and specifications associated with technical documents. Organization and communication skills will be essential to efficiently relate recommendations of interpretations to the contractors and owners. This position will be in the following locations: Seguin, TX.
Degree: High school diploma or equivalent experience or accreditation.
Experience: Minimum 7+ years of pertinent and related work experience in providing construction inspections for municipal water/wastewater utility projects.
Travel: Must be able to travel as needed. Must be able to use automobile transportation. Will be required to work on project sites that require walking and some climbing.
Responsibilities:
Ensure good communications and working relationships with technical staff and Project Managers across multiple TRC offices, as well as with contractors and owners.
Be capable of reviewing and interpreting construction specifications and drawings and directing contractors as to the determined interpretations.
Document any changes and manage organization of documents.
Be present on-site full time when construction work is progressing.
Communicate results / issues as required to the project team.
Prepare and organize daily inspection reports.
Communicate effectively with project manager.
