Overview:
Prepares and cooks food as assigned utilizing standardized issues from Ingredient Control. Handles and prepares food in accordance with established sanitary and safety regulations. Ensures that food is palatable and appetizing in appearance. Meets meal schedule and avoids waste. Responsible for proper care and cleaning of equipment.
Must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2 screening for this position
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Required to read, speak, write, perform simple arithmetic calculations, understand and follow written and oral instructions. Two years of cooking experience in commercial foodservices required. On-the-job training also is provided under close supervision. Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities, be familiar with seasonings, and have knowledge of cooking characteristics of various meats, vegetables, and starches.Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:Employees in this position:Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purposeNOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position.Licensure/Certification/Registration:None
