Overview:
The Operations Manager role will focus on gathering and analyzing data to evaluate current business practices and providing solutions to improve safety, customer quality, and a reduction in operational costs via improved productivity. Developing and then implementing process changes in collaboration with management and floor level union associates using Lean methodologies for both the Middle River and DC BBG distribution centers. Expertise using SAP in a distribution environment is a must, Lean /Six Sigma (Green Belt) preferred.
This position will be based in Middle River, MD with routine travel to our Washington DC facility. The work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8-5. Compensation package: Range: $92,000 - $115,000. This position is eligible to participate in a bonus program. Metrics and level of participation are determined annually.
Responsibilities:
Cross functionally interact with sales, ops, and customers.Assist with the reconciliation of driver over and shorts, inventory, and cash.
Provide any requested reports to management.
Provide supervision, direction and discipline for union and non-union warehouse and delivery employees according to their specific assignments.
Continually analyze and review warehouse and delivery work flow to identify possible inefficiencies and provide solutions to enhance the operations.Review and analyze current warehouse and delivery technologies to locate and implement additional efficiencies and cost savings.
Provide supervision, direction and discipline for union and non-union warehouse and delivery employees according to their specific assignments
Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required. Responsibly handle beverage alcohol product
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
Minimum of 5 year of experience in related area
Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
Analytic and Reporting skills
Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to remain in a stationary position at times; communicate, and operate a computer and telephone
Competencies:
May help coordinate the work of junior members of the team.
Resolves issues which are often varied and non-routine. Undertakes analysis and investigation to solve issues.
