Position Description:

At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Compliance and Sustainability Analyst to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. The Compliance and Sustainability Analyst is responsible for collaborating with functional teams to develop processes and conduct sustainability compliance efforts for products across Starline. The position will also entail coordinating sustainability related activities for all Starline products including defining the requirements needed and performing analysis and related submittals. The role will advise Starline on industry and governmental regulations that could affect products. In addition, the Compliance and Sustainability Analyst will develop and maintain a reporting process for measuring sustainable activities.

Maintain compliance awareness by working as an audit member of LNCA compliance committee, sharing information, findings and requirements across the Starline business.

Coordinate the communication for all points of environment and sustainable information throughout Starline. Develop a method to input, maintain and report the gathered data. Gather required technical information from Starline to generate the documents needed to obtain certification. Input data as required.

Develop reporting tools to extract data and format reports as required by Starline.

Innovates technical solutions for existing or new compliance solutions. Provide guidance to engineers, designers, and management.

Manage change/updates to the compliance data base. Assure all synchronized links to all Starline MRP/ERP systems are correctly providing information. Manage incoming data of vendor data request campaigns.

Research and provide necessary intelligence for software or tools used in compliance activities. Assure software licenses are updated on an annual basis.

Provide technical information to the engineering teams and businesses for placement on documentation, drawings and collateral.

Provide input for Engineering changes, packaging changes and raw material specification sheets utilizing the latest compliance declaration language Complete System Layouts. Design layouts of busway systems based on customer drawings and input.

Schedule and manage quarterly compliance audits, quarterly update, % complete for all Business Units to maintain KPI’s.

Understand ECN process with BOM’s and drawings to support existing and new design line expansions.

Design quality audit system to maintain compliance currency.

Devises and gains approval to perform specialized compliance lab tests. Directs lab on what tests are required.

Calls project meeting after approved subject matter from manager or senior engineer. Serves as lead presenter at some project meetings.  Serves as project driver.

Qualifications:

Required Skills

Education:   

Minimum BS in a technically related degree. Specific experience may serve to offset education.

1-3 year’s relevant experience. Has obtained general industry experience that complements a broad base.

Working understanding of key sustainability codes and standards (including Prop 65, HPDs and ROHS) along with the ability to work at a granular level towards compliance for individual products.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Must have broad understanding of Engineering principals, materials and manufacturing processes. Must demonstrate or obtain an understanding of the compliance technical requirements. 

Must possess excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.

Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.  Must be proficient with compliance software use and management.

Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities.

Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.

Personal Qualities/Behaviors:

Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.

Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs.

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.
