Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Events & Security, and Event Manager, an Event Staff Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a positive guest experience for all PPL Center patrons. Supervisors oversee the Event Staff, and ensures that they are adhering to the rules, regulations and policies of the PPL Center, while providing excellent customer service.

This role pays an hourly rate of $12.50 to $15.00.

This position will remain open until December 31, 2024.

About the Venue:

PPL Center is a state-of-the-art multipurpose arena in downtown Allentown, PA managed by OVG and home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The arena seats more than 10,000 for concerts and more than 8,500 for Lehigh Valley Phantoms professional hockey games, making it the region's largest events venue. The amenities-packed PPL Center hosts more than 150 events each year, offering something for everyone, including the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the NHL Philadelphia Flyers, live concerts, family shows, trade shows, youth sports, high school and collegiate events, conferences, graduations and many more.

Responsibilities:

Manage Event Staff during event as assigned by Manager and Lead Event Staff Supervisor

Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner.

Have knowledge of building layout, including restrooms and exits.

Have knowledge of all rules and regulations.

Have knowledge of all authorized credentials.

Monitor guests and enforce rules.

Assist in crowd management, seating discrepancies, and settling disputes

Inform Lead Event Staff Supervisor of developing problem.

Respond in a quick and professional manner to incidents.

Be aware of all special functions or activities that occur during the event.

Assist with sign in/out of all staff.

Distribute uniforms and equipment.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old

High School diploma or GED

Must have excellent customer service experience

Strong problem solving skills and able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment

Prior supervisory experience is a plus

Effective oral communication and writing skills in the English; additional languages a plus

Ability to interact with guests and staff with a professional and friendly appearance and attitude

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including but not limited to nights, weekends and select holidays

Must be able to stand or walk constantly for extended length of time

Must be able to work in an environment of moderate to loud noise levels
