Job Summary:

Provides coordination of special events and promotions for the Promotions Department.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

Coordinates with Promotions Specialist, ensuring promotions are accurate

Assists with promotions and special events, which may include distribution and setup of promotional gift giveaways and monetary gift giveaways

Ability to communicate Marketing information effectively with all related departments to ensure proper and efficient preparation and execution of promotions and events

Directly responsible for scheduling and supervising staff in active, and deadline-oriented programs.

Coordinates activities to promote casino to the general public.  May include direct mail, telemarketing, advertising, publicity, community relations, and special events

Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate special events and promotion records and reports

Provides technical and organizational oversight for all promotional activities

Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requires strong leadership and motivational skills. Will interact with various levels of staff, management, government officials, and the public. 

Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.

Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; grooming standards, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of advertising, promotions, entertainment design, special events, direct mail, players tracking and public contract. Team leader and innovator relating to marketing concepts. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Must be competent with various PC based software programs, especially in database and spreadsheet programs. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with the public and staff.  Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Must possess a high regard for guest service and team member relations. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business, Marketing or related field preferred.  One to Two years experience in Marketing or related field, with progressive supervisory experience, with the ability to handle high volume, fast-paced environment or combination of education and experience.  

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Exceptional reading, writing, interpersonal and public speaking skills are important to the successful conduct of this position. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical reports, general business periodicals, professional journals or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, rates, ratio, proportions and percentages. 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply legal, regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts and policy to practical situations.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The team member frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The team member is occasionally required to sit. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a fast paced work environment and the position requires the ability to cope with it. The casino environment has moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment.      

WORKING HOURS:

A typical workweek shall be 40 hours. The team member is expected to devote such time and energy as is reasonably necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Occasionally further availability may be required, including evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. The team member may be required to be available by telephone or other electronic communication device during normal business hours and in case of after hour emergencies.
