Overview:

The Director of Scholarships (Associate Director) is responsible for overseeing the Scholarship Team, state aid programs, and institutional aid managed in Student Financial Support. This position reports to the Executive Director in Student Financial Support.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Scholarships will be part of Leadership Team and will work collaboratively with all office staff, including campus partners across the USU system. Duties and responsibilities of this position may include: 

Awareness & oversight of campus-wide processing of institutional scholarships and endowment funds

Awareness & oversight of state aid programs and programs directed by the Utah System of Higher Education

Collaborate with department and division leadership on enrollment strategies

Oversee scholarships awarded by admissions & recruitment team members

Budget and account management.

Involvement in institutional scholarship awarding and leveraging strategies (including fund utilization, understanding discount rates, etc)

Lead the recruitment, training, development, supervision, and evaluation of a dedicated scholarship team

Developing and analyzing data

Manage specific scholarship and endowment accounts housed within Student Financial Support

Represent the institution and serve on committees specific to scholarship administration

Supervise full-time staff

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years experience

Knowledge, skillset, or potential related to the specific duties & responsibilities of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Higher Education

Utah State University Experience

Masters Degree

5+ years of progressive experience at an institution of higher education of similar scope and size as Utah State University.

Experience with state financial aid compliance audits, budget management, or financial aid reporting.

Previous supervisor/managerial leadership experience.

Familiarity with any of the following systems: Office 365, Banner, CampusLogic (StudentForms, CampusCommunicator, ScholarshipUniverse), ServiceNow, or similar systems.

Familiarity with USU policies and procedures.

Familiarity with Federal and/or State aid regulations.

Experience developing and analyzing data.
