Position: Social Worker - LMSW - Children's- Intake & Assessment

Salary Range:

Full License: Hourly $27.78-$37.58 | Salary $54,171-$73,281

Limited License: Hourly $25.65-$35.21 | Salary $50,017.50-$68,659.50

Location: Detroit, MI

Grant-Based Position: No salary negotiation/flexibility

Shift Type: Days

Shift Times: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Shift Notes: Hours are subject to change based on program needs. Full-time staff must provide 25 hours of billable service per week.

Role Overview:

As a Therapist in the Kids-TALK Program, you will provide trauma-informed individual, family, and group therapy as well as parent education. You will work collaboratively with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, school personnel, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children and their families. Responsibilities also include assessments, providing referrals, maintaining clinical records, and participating in program evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Intake Assessments and complete necessary opening paperwork.

Maintain knowledge of trauma-focused interventions and evidence-based practices.

Provide trauma-informed individual, family, and group therapy.

Work collaboratively with external professionals (e.g., psychiatrists, school personnel, Wraparound facilitators).

Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.

Document client progress and assessments in line with organizational policies.

Guide and supervise program interns.

Complete required annual trainings, including 24 hours of child-focused education.

Other duties as assigned.

Travel:

Mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate of $0.64/mile when using a personal vehicle.

Requirements:

Must have a Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.

Must be licensed in Michigan as a TLLP, LLP, LP, LMSW, LLMSW, LPC, or LLPC.

Must obtain state licensure within a 60-day training period (which may be extended by an additional 60 days if needed).

Must meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements for a Qualified Child Mental Health Professional within four months of hire.

At least 7 months of experience working with minors and families is preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

Cultural competency and sensitivity to the diverse needs of families.

Ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and their families.

Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate with other professionals.

Flexibility, patience, and creativity in handling complex family and community systems.

Certification Requirements:

LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP (Michigan Licensure).

Submission Requirements:

Candidates cannot be on student/work visas or require sponsorship.
