Job Summary:
The Team Leader provides direction, instruction and guidance to a team of operators in a defined area to ensure targets are achieved. The Team Leader participates as a member of the operational leadership team to deliver monthly / annual production plan. The Team Leader role is a “hands on” role
Main Responsibilities
* Support the flow of operations on a day to day basis
* Track the team performance and support the daily cell production activity and work flow
* Work a % of the time directly in product manufacture when required
* Ensure resources are available (manpower, machines and material)
* ID training requirements through the area
* Communicate clear instructions through start of shift meetings on a day to day basis and report feedback to area production managers
* Ensure compliance with established quality standards
* Lead on health and safety for the Team (including risk assessment; wellbeing of staff; accident investigation and reporting)
* Suggests Continuous Improvement projects to achieve productivity targets
* Leads “5S status”
* Maintain KPI’s; Ensure targets (for example: Quality; Costs and Delivery) are met
* Lead the team to continuously improve the area
* Capacity plan to meet order requirement
* Ensure TPM regime is adhered to maximise machine availably
* Supports / performs manufacturing roles when performance decreases due to sickness / holiday
* Support company in developing further Lean activities
* Maintains standards, practices and procedures for cell
Essential skills:
* Relevant Operations experience in a heavy industrial environment
* Safety conscious
* Ability to understand workflows
Desirable skills:
* Problem solver
* Continuous improvements thinker
* Open and willing to learn
* Leadership potential
