Job Purpose:**

Oversee all aspects of site management for the school's fabric and grounds, including health and safety, security, cleanliness, maintenance, and contractor oversight. Enhance site management productivity through pre-planned maintenance programs. The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities:**

**Staff Management:**
- Build and manage an effective site team, delegating tasks as necessary.
- Conduct appraisals and ensure professional development for staff.

**Building Management:**
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and cleaning.
- Manage small maintenance projects, ensuring cost efficiency.
- Implement monitoring procedures to maintain the site's safety and cleanliness.
- Perform minor repairs within expertise.

**Contracts Management:**
- Supervise grounds and cleaning contractors to ensure high standards.
- Assist in preparing documentation for tenders and projects.

**Security:**
- Oversee the school's security, including locking/unlocking routines, alarms, and fire safety equipment.
- Ensure the site is secure and available for school functions and lettings.

**Site Management:**
- Manage heating, energy, and water systems, and assist with event setup.
- Ensure waste is managed, emergency cleaning is performed, and DIY tasks are completed.

**Health and Safety:**
- Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain compliance with legislation.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and mechanical systems are properly maintained.
- Carry out PAT testing and ensure emergency access in adverse weather conditions.

**Administration:**
- Maintain inventories of equipment and monitor the maintenance budget.

**Other Duties:**
- Safeguard children's welfare and promote equality within the role.

**Person Specification:**

**Qualifications:**
- Essential: Training/qualifications in premises management and risk assessment.
- Desirable: Project management experience.

**Experience:**
- Essential: Team leadership and site management experience.
- Desirable: Trade skills (e.g., building, electrical, plumbing).

**Knowledge and Skills:**
- Essential: Understanding of health and safety regulations and school policies.
- Competence in basic building repairs, mechanical systems, and IT (Outlook, Microsoft Office).

**Personal Qualities:**
- Essential: Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours with a full, clean driving license.

This role requires confident English communication in line with public-facing responsibilities under the Immigration Act 2016
