The Role:
The company is looking for a proactive Freelance Site Manager with a few years of experience and a strong grasp of standard construction processes and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all on-site operations, ensuring projects run smoothly, on time, and within budget. Key responsibilities include:
* Proactive Project Management: Compile detailed and informative weekly and monthly reports for client review, while updating the construction programme on a weekly basis.
* Contractor Coordination: Chair weekly trade contractor meetings, issue minutes, and handle non-conformance notices where necessary.
* Problem-Solving: Collaborate with the design team to address and resolve any issues that arise on site.
* Toolbox Talks & Record-Keeping: Conduct regular toolbox talks and maintain thorough records.
* Project Handover: Compile handover and O&M (Operation and Maintenance) manuals at project completion.
* Snagging Process: Lead pre-snagging and snagging activities with clients and trade contractors.
* Building Control: Manage and ensure final sign-off from Building Control authorities.
Requirements:
* Experience: Proven experience in site or project management, ideally handling construction projects valued at £1.5m or more.
* Civils Background: Prior experience in civil engineering or related projects.
* Qualifications: Relevant construction-related qualifications (HNC, HND, or Degree).
* Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain excellent relationships with clients.
* Drive and Passion: A motivated individual with a passion for construction, an eye for detail, and a flair for effective management.
