Role Overview:

Provide Education is looking for an experienced Chef to join a primary school team in Rotherham, managing the kitchen and preparing high-quality meals for students and staff. Reporting directly to the School Business Manager, you’ll lead a team of kitchen assistants to ensure efficient food preparation and kitchen operations. This role is perfect for someone with chef experience, even if they haven’t worked in a school before.

Key Responsibilities:

* Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious hot and cold meals daily, ensuring they meet dietary standards and are served on time.

* Team Management: Lead and manage a team of kitchen assistants, ensuring smooth operation of the kitchen.

* Menu Planning: Assist with creating balanced and appealing menus, considering dietary requirements.

* Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure all kitchen areas and equipment are clean, safe, and in compliance with health and safety regulations.

* Stock Management: Oversee food ordering, stock rotation, and inventory control.

* Collaboration: Work closely with the School Business Manager and premises team to meet the school's catering needs.

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience as a Chef: Previous experience in a chef role is essential, though school experience is not required.

* Team Player: You must be friendly, approachable, and able to work well within a team.

* Leadership Skills: Ability to manage and motivate a team of kitchen assistants.
