Temporary Learning Support Assistants (3 Positions)
Location: Bridgwater, Taunton, and Cannington
Duration: ASAP until 19 December 2024
Hours: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (to be discussed)
We are seeking experienced Learning Support Assistants to work across all campuses. The ideal candidates will have experience in high levels of personal care and supporting learners with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to learners with SEND and SEMH needs.
Collaborate with the teaching team to stay updated on learners’ needs and support strategies.
Take the lead on managing incidents when necessary.
Support learners safely using a hoist for moving and handling.
Follow instructions, risk assessments, and best practices.Essential Criteria:
Experience working with SEND or SEMH learners.
Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Organised, flexible, and able to use initiative.
Calm under pressure and in stressful situations.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a high-performing team.Desirable Criteria:
MAPA or behaviour management training.
Experience in Further Education (FE).
Knowledge of mental health issues.
L2 Health and Social Care or SEND/SEMH qualification.
Experience in manual handling and moving people.This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dedicated team supporting learners in a rewarding environment.
