ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer

SALARY - £35,000-£40,000, dependent on experience

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Hampshire

My client designs and manufactures bespoke machinery. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in the Hampshire area on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

Hands-on industry experience ideally working in a similar design role within a manufacturing environment
Proficient with using 3D CAD – ideally SolidWorks or AutoCAD
Knowledge of machinery operations and electrical/electronic products
Degree / ONC / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified or similar in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering / Industrial Design or similar
Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
Experienced designing products from concept to production
Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
Knowledge of different materials such as sheet metal fabrication
Innovative, accurate and passionate about design
Be technically minded with a head for problem solving
Excellent leadership and organisational skills
Able to work well individually as well as part of a team

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

Being responsible for the Design and Development of various products and systems
Using SolidWorks and AutoCAD CAD software for design on a day-to-day basis
Developing ideas from concept to production
Creating models/prototypes
Liaising with clients and developing solutions for design specifications
Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
Providing technical guidance and support
Supporting product Testing, Verification & Validation
Supporting more junior members of the team
