We are currently seeking Environmental Scientists, Geologists and Engineers in our Buffalo, NY office. The Environmental Division at LaBella provides a full range of environmental due diligence services from initial assessment to remediation. The Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Engineer must have extensive experience with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) programs including but not limited to the Brownfield Cleanup Program and Spills program.

This position requires primarily office work; however, the successful candidate should expect to be out in the field to mentor junior staff and support field staff, on an as-needed basis. Field work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes.

Duties

Scoping of Phase II and remedial investigations

Planning and execution of field investigation programs targeting soil, groundwater, soil vapor, etc.

Data tabulation and management

Field and laboratory data review and interpretation

Remedial alternatives analysis

Cost estimating

Technical report writing and review

Support field sampling programs, as needed

Requirements

4-6 Years Experience

BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field

MS Office Suite

Experience with Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and the NYSDEC Brownfield Cleanup Program

Strong communication skills, critical thinking, creativity

Field sampling experience

40 Hour OSHA Hazwoper certification and up to date annual refresher

Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000 per year

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
