TechOp Solutions is looking to add talented FOIA professionals to our team that possess the experience, vision, commitment and integrity to successfully support the strategic goals of our government clients.
Provide responses to FOIA and Privacy Act requests; data entry; annual backlog reduction support; and correspondence preparation.
Manage the receipt, distribution, and tracking of incoming FOIA request.
Provide written/oral responses to inquiries regarding the FOIA from other federal/state/local agencies.
Prepare letters and other correspondence in support of FOIA/Privacy Act actions and upload all of the correspondence into the FOIA tracking system.
Review all information generated in response to FOIA requests/appeals and redact any information that is exempted under the FOIA or must be withheld in accordance with the Privacy Act
Ensure all final responses received for FOIA requests are entered into the tracking system.
Provide research and analysis in support of FOIA policy development, implementation, and/or the status of specific FOIA requests/appeals.
Convert all hard copy records (to include correspondence, responsive records, and final responses) into electronic files to be saved in the FOIA tracking system.
Review and process any portions of the responsive records that may be required to be released to appellants in response to their appeal.
Requirements
BA/BS degree preferred; minimum 2 years relevant experience required
Expertise in FOIA processing, including responding to Appeals
Experience using FOIAXpress
Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications
Demonstrated ability to maintain and increase professional knowledge of the latest policies, guidance, standards, and trends in Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act
U.S. Citizenship required
Must be able to meet all security eligibility requirements
