Job Description

AECOM's EHS team is seeking a Health and Safety Compliance Specialist.  This hybrid role can be based out of our Long Beach, Los Angeles, or Orange, California offices. The successful candidate will be part of a diverse team of engineers and scientists that are responsible for a wide range of health and safety consulting services in California.  We are looking for a proven professional in the industry who understands health and safety regulations and has the ability to implement a variety of support services for our clients. The role includes the opportunity to support large local, national and international clients with their health and safety compliance needs.

The successful candidate will have experience and be capable of executing the following responsibilities of this position with minimal to no supervision:

Conduct health and safety inspections and audits at various types of sites (manufacturing, commercial, Federal, etc.) for clients to identify potential deficiencies or hazards and determine corrective actions accordingly.

Ability to understand the intent and application of a diverse set of health and safety-related state and federal regulations (OSHA and Cal OSHA), and the ability to effectively educate our clients specific to their regulatory obligations and compliance.

Develop and conduct health and safety-related employee training, emergency preparedness and assure the quality of programs for clients.

Develop, implement and maintain various OSHA and State required safety and health programs, systems and procedures for various clients.

Recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures and operating equipment for clients to minimize hazards.

Provide on-site health and safety support services for various clients.

Provide Federal and California regulatory interpretation and technical advice.

Conduct accident investigations and prepare accident reports required by regulatory agencies.

Contribute to proposals and bringing in new work and clients as well as supporting existing projects and clients.

Regular travel is required to client sites as necessary.
