Overview:

Insmed is seeking an innovative and highly motivated senior scientist to support development, production, and characterization of novel AAV gene therapies at the New Jersey Research Development Labs. Responsibilities may include AAV production and purification, AAV potency testing, AAV titration, and AAV transgene construct design.

Responsibilities:

ResponsibilitiesProduce and purify AAV gene therapy candidates.

Design and produce novel AAV transgene constructs.

Titer AAV batches.

Develop cell-based biological potency assays.

Effectively collaborate with peers within metabolic gene therapies and broader research teams to evaluate AAV gene therapy candidate properties and function.

Author and review protocols, electronic notebook entries, technical reports, and scientific publications.

Maintain proper documentation of experimental procedures and results.

Qualifications:Minimum Ph.D. degree in biological sciences discipline and 2+ years of relevant industry experience.

Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in research-scale high-throughput AAV production and purification required.

Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with AAV titration required.

Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture required.

Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with in vitro assay development required.

Expert knowledge and hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques required.

Entrepreneurial spirit, proactive problem-solving attitude and strong willingness to take on new challenges a must.

Excellent organizational and time management skills required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Knowledge of immunology a plus.

Experience with flow cytometry a plus.

Experience with in vivo work a plus.

Salary Range:

$115,000 - $161,867 a year
