Overview:

The Executive Director- Nursing, is accountable for the nursing operations, nursing practice, quality, safety, productivity and patient experience on the assigned campus. The Executive Director works closely with physicians, system-wide Executive Directors, and Department Directors across all service lines to plan, develop and implement nursing care, continuously evaluates care is delivered efficiently, effectively and is patient focused.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership for the routine operations in assigned areas in an effective and efficient manner.

Establish programs, standards, and policies to ensure that services are consistent with national standards of care and regulatory requirements and consistent across the system.

Design systems to maximize patient throughput and optimize efficient and appropriate use of staff resources across the system.

Establish collaborative relationships with staff and community physicians.

--------------------------------------------------

Develop programs to promote high patient and physician satisfaction with services delivered.

Promote a positive work environment for employees emphasizing support for the Shared Governance model.

Plan and implement systems for financial management including staffing, non-salary expense management, accurate revenue capture and collection support.

Develop strategic plans incorporating capital replacement, standardization and market-focused goals to support smart growth opportunities.

Ensure compliance with quality assurance and patient safety initiatives.

--------------------------------------------------

Coach, mentor and provide guidance and support for the leadership team.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

REQUIRED:

Graduate of RN Educational Program with both Baccalaureate and Masters degrees (one of which must be in Nursing).

PREFERRED:

Relevant management or applicable specialty post-graduate program

EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership position.

Minimum of 3-5 years experience in acute care nursing.

PREFERRED:

Demonstrated experience in nursing leadership, education, practice, research and scholarly activities and LEAN methodologies.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

REQUIRED:

Current North Carolina Registered Nurse License.

Certified in relative area of practice or Certification in Nursing Administration (NE-BC) or other relevant management or applicable specialty, or must obtain within one year of hire.

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider

Valid NC driver's license - NOTE: If driving a Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years driving experience and driving record must be reviewed and approved by Risk Management
