Overview:
Now offering a $1,500 sign on bonus for Medical Assistant New Hires!
Effective April 1, 2024 and expires December 1, 2024. Applicable only for MA & MOS positions in the Centers of Excellence and Maryland Family Care practices, of which this role applies to.
The Medical Assistant demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served by their department. Additionally, the MA demonstrates competency in applying these principles when providing individualized care to specific patients. Assists the MD/NP/PA in performing procedures. Operates, maintains and calibrates all equipment.
Responsibilities:
Patient triaging - EKGs, vitals, injections (preferred), documentation, point of care testing
Patient call intake and outgoing communication
Inbasket messaging - internal and via patient portal (MyChart)
Admininstrative duties - including but not limited to RightFax, pre-Registration, scheduling, mailing letters, prior authorizations
Epic experienced - preferred
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Education and Work Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
A minimum of one year experience is preferred as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Certification Requirements:
CPR-preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel

Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
