The Warehouse Cable Technician I tests, repairs, prepares cable orders, and processes cable department returns.
Your day will look like this:
Examine the lists of equipment to be prepared for tours and pull all cabling orders
Determine if cable is damaged; clearly mark the cable so cable repair can identify and fix
Together with the manager, coordinate the preparation of orders on a priority basis
Prepare, fill, and receive orders in the R2 inventory system
The technician may be required to customize the equipment if requested by the customer according to the purchase order:
Complete the lists in the R2 software
Modify the equipment orders based on availability
Ensure that all equipment sent to the planned locations is in good condition
Ensure the order and cleanliness of department
Report any breaks and/or missing items to the supervisor
Keep track of inventories, kits, cable assembly bundles, etc.
Respond to any questions or issues technicians may have, as well as to those from coordinators and technicians on the road
Clean and visually inspect returned equipment
Clean, label and inventory cabling
Follow quality standards as well as the company’s and/or industry’s standards of preparation
All other duties related to the position
Your profile:
Degree in audiovisual or electronics field a plus
Less than 1 year of experience in production equipment rentals/operations
Experience in cabling or electrics a plus
Knowledge of the R2 inventory software (an asset)
Knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Basic knowledge in types of cables used in the live entertainment production industry
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate information in a logical and clear way
Teamwork oriented
Good ability to prioritize within tight deadlines
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
Strong customer service skills
Forklift certification (an asset)
