Immediate Start
Annual Salary
Full-Time
Role Summary:
URBN is looking for a UX Researcher who will work closely with other members of the UX Research team, UX Designers, Product Managers, as well as Business Stakeholders. While your day to day will vary as different projects arise, this role is focused on executing qualitative and quantitative research to improve user experience of our digital products (consumer websites & apps; retail systems & internal tools). You will own projects end-to-end (i.e. identifying research questions, designing and implementing studies, conducting analysis, and communicating results to team members and stakeholders). With every project you will design your study and present back your findings to stakeholders—so critical thinking and strong communication skills are essential. This team also places a strong emphasis on research rigor; a strong foundation in conducting research is a must.
Role Responsibilities:
Manage most research studies independently, end to end, for all major methodologies. Large-scale projects (i.e. highly complex, multi-phase projects) may be executed with some support from Manager or a Senior Researcher.
Exercise active listening and critical thinking, asking the “right” questions to identify research opportunities that will enable us to better serve our customers, stakeholders, and business
Identify the appropriate methodology for each research question
Project manage your work-- write a project plan, considering any potential dependencies up front, and execute to that plan
Communicate research plan to stakeholders, and maintain communication with them throughout the research study process
Design and execute on all major methodologies (usability tests, tree tests, card sorts, IDIs, surveys, intercepts, competitive analysis, and contextual inquiries) for web, mobile, and cross-channel digital experiences
Analyze and translate data into meaningful and actionable business findings
Execute and deliver all studies on time
Prepare written reports (usually in Keynote) and data visualizations that clearly communicate research insights
Present research findings to stakeholders
Write succinct and compelling summaries of research to share with broad stakeholder groups
Collaborate with partners (e.g. Advanced Analytics, SEO, etc.) to align data, testing strategies and present a cohesive narrative to stakeholders
Continuously grow and improve your research practice, building on previously learned skills
Support UX Research team in continuous growth and improvement
Provide focused support to your assigned vertical(s). This includes understanding their roadmap and proactively identifying (and, as appropriate, executing) research opportunities
Role Qualifications:
Required:
2+ years’ experience in user research
Foundational understanding of web and mobile technologies
Detail oriented, highly organized and ability to easily manage multiple ongoing projects
Proven ability to articulate, rationalize and communicate your ideas to stakeholders, focusing on the problems or friction points you are trying to solve
Preferred:
3+ years experience in User Research
Formalized education in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology or a related field
Experience in quantitative research methodologies, statistical analysis, and/or data science
Background in e-commerce/retail
