Responsibilities:
Schedule
Monday - Friday; with some Saturdays depending on needs of the business.
The Role
Sanitation Techs are responsible for commercial general housekeeping including but not limited to sweeping floors, cleaning up debris around the warehouse, cleaning up standing water, floor drains, breaking down boxes and recycle, scheduled cleaning of hydrocooler, ice injector, freezer, restrooms and lunchroom, using a forklift to empty garbage and check for potential pest control issues – following all SOP’s for each equipment type.
Essential Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited To
All employees are responsible for food safety and are expected to notify the appropriate manager, supervisor, or key personnel if they witness any compromise to food safety or food quality.
Empty all yard, restroom, lunchroom, and cold room trashcans.
Maintian cleanliness of the employee lunchrooms and receiving and shipping offices, to include sweeping, mopping, refrigerator clean out.
Maintain and sanitize all bathrooms, including replenishing any supplies on a daily basis.
Follow and maintain regular cleaning schedules for ice room, warehouse cooler, hydrocooler, cooler curtains, surrounding office spaces and other equipment.
Clean all drinking water containers including, main tank, office and facility containers.
Regular draining and cleaning of sump pumps and floor canal drains.
Responsible for the completion of the daily cleaning inspection log.
Must be able to work independently and communicate issues.
Peripheral Duties: Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Manager
Qualifications:
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
Able to read and speak English
Ability to lift up to 70lbs routinely
Ability to consistently work in a refrigerated environment 34-37 degrees
1-year previous warehouse or janitorial experience
Knowledge of chemical usage, proportions, and regulations.
Decision making/problem solving skills and listening skills.
Knowledge of sanitation equipment and tools
Knowledge of GMP’s, Food Safety and Sanitation Procedures.
Ability to read understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to learn and adhere to proper procedures in safety when working with moving parts.
Must be able to take and pass a pre-employment drug test
Licensing and Certification: Forklift certification ( Prefered but can certified onsite)
Tools and Equipment Used: Electric pallet jack (riding type), Forklift, gloves and steel toed boots (preferred).
