Job Title: Management Accountant (12-Month FTC)
Location: Birmingham (South)
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-Time, Hybrid, Fixed-Term (12 Months)

Our Client:
A leading s in their sector is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join their Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a financial professional to contribute to key budgeting and reporting processes, providing essential support to budget holders and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Budget Preparation: Work closely with budget holders and business partners to prepare budgets and forecasts, ensuring all assumptions are agreed upon and accurate.
Budget Reporting: Provide timely and accurate budget reports, ensuring income and expenditure align with set budgets and accounting principles.
Account Preparation: Prepare accounts in line with financial regulations and accounting standards, meeting all required deadlines.
Variance Analysis: Produce variance reports, explaining discrepancies between actual results and budgeted targets.
Query Resolution: Address queries from budget holders and resolve any financial issues with the Finance team.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
Financial Analysis: Analyse financial data for areas under your control, clearly communicating insights to key stakeholders.
Reconciliations & Data Integrity: Ensure accurate financial reporting through system reconciliations and data checks before publishing monthly reports.
Management Information: Interpret financial data to support informed business decisions and provide relevant insights.
Report Sharing: Deliver accurate annual accounts, budgets, and forecasts to both Finance and other business areas.
Collaborative Review: Engage with Finance and department teams to review and discuss financial reports, ensuring clarity and understanding.
Continuous Improvement: Suggest improvements to financial processes and present these to senior finance leaders for review and potential implementation.Candidate Profile:

Qualifications: CIMA/ACCA/ACA finalist or qualified
Experience: Proven experience in a management accounting role, with strong budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis skills.
Skills: Excellent financial analysis, communication, and problem-solving abilities. A proactive and collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills are essential.Why Apply?
