About the Institution:
A sixth-form college providing high-quality education for students aged 16-19. Our Alternative Learning Support (ALS) department caters to students with diverse needs, ensuring inclusive and tailored support.

Job Purpose:
This Sixth Form College is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join their ALS team, providing individualized support to students with complex needs, empowering them to access learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities of a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Anxiety, Suicidal ideologies, ADHD, Behavioural Needs, Learning Difficulties, Downs Syndrome, and physical disabilities.
- Develop and implement personalized learning strategies.
- Assist students in accessing curriculum materials and adapting learning resources.
- Foster independence, self-esteem, and social skills.
- Monitor student progress and report to teachers and parents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and external agencies.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students with emotional regulation, anxiety, and behavioral challenges.
- Facilitate communication between students, staff, and parents.

Requirements:
- Experience working with students with complex needs.
- Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (Optional).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
