Specialist Teaching Assistant - Full Time - North London - October Start

Are you an enthusiastic, dedicated and keen individual looking to embark on an exciting journey as a Specialist Teaching Assistant?

We are currently seeking a compassionate and resilient individual who can provide their support to autistic young people aged 16-25. This is a fabulous opportunity for those wanting to help make a difference to young individuals with autism and encourage them to gain independence, self acceptance and confidence to support them later on in life.

You would gain access to coaching and mentoring as well as e-learning and online training courses to provide you with continuous professional development. You would be working alongside experts in autism, allowing you to broaden your knowledge and expertise.

benefits of this role also include a free healthy breakfast available everyday, eye test vouchers, season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme and although this is a term time only role, you would get paid across 52 weeks.

Specialist Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

Be responsible for keeping up to date with safeguarding / health & safety policies
Be responsible for safeguarding learners at all times
Uphold public trust as professional members of staff and approach the role with positivity, creativity, problem solving and a communicative and collaborative mindset which first and foremost supports quality learning
Train in and consistently apply Positive Behaviour Support strategies / handling techniquesSpecialist Teaching Assistant Specifications:

Interest in, and/or knowledge of, autism
Willing to undertake direct intimate personal care tasks as required
To have the physical and emotional resilience to work with autistic children/YP who may have behaviours that challenge
