Job Title: Shift Technician (5:30am start 12 hour shift)
Location: East London
Salary: Up to £51,000

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Shift Technician to join our engineering team in East London. Responsibilities:
* Perform maintenance tasks on mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems, according to established procedures.
* Troubleshoot control systems and mechanical equipment specific to boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems to identify and rectify faults in a timely manner.
* Assist in the installation and maintenance of new plant and equipment related to boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems as needed.
* Ensure availability of necessary spares for maintenance and reactive works in boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems.
* Respond promptly to breakdown maintenance requests within SLAs for boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems.
* Assist in site surveys and contribute to the production of Works Requests, Method Statements & Risk Assessments for planned works related to boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems.
* Support contractors when required and ensure completion of all planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks within SLAs for boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems.
* Collaborate with Client representatives regarding maintenance & repair tasks specific to boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems and report changes in critical environment requirements to the Facilities Management Team.
* Maintain accurate engineering maintenance documentation & records specific to boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems in compliance with industry standards.
* Communicate building issues related to boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems to end users, clients, and management team as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Shift Technician, ideally in a high-demand environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, power distribution, and control systems.
* Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (for electrical engineers).
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
* Previous experience in a similar role within high-profile environments, preferably in the financial sector, with specific experience in boiler rooms, plant rooms, and data centre systems.
* Mechanical and Electrical qualifications or relevant experience.
* Sound technical knowledge of building systems, including IT environments and data systems.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and manage tasks efficiently.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and maintenance tasks.
* Basic PC literacy.
