We are seeking a skilled and motivated Press Brake Operator / Sheet Metal Worker to join our dynamic, small, and experienced team based in Stevenage, SG1. If you have a passion for precision engineering and metal fabrication, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy and varied workshop environment.

You will be responsible for operating the press brake, reading and understanding engineering drawings, and working with a range of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate Press Brake: Set up and operate press brake machinery to produce components to precise tolerances.
Fabrication: Utilise guillotines and other workshop equipment to manufacture and fabricate products based on detailed in-house and customer drawings.
Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished products to ensure adherence to quality and technical standards.
Problem Solving: Tackle any fabrication issues, ensuring timely resolution while maintaining quality.
Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a small team, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
Development: Willingness to learn and develop new skills required to adapt to changing work demands.

Skills Required

Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum 2 years of Press Brake experience.
Knowledge of Various Materials: Ability to work with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
Engineering Drawings: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.
Team Player: Collaborate effectively with team members and across departments.
Adaptability: Flexible approach to learning new skills and embracing challenges within the workshop.
Welding (TIG): Welding skills would be a bonus but are not essential.
Day-to-Day Duties Include:
Fabricating various components using press brakes, guillotines, and general engineering tools.
Working from detailed drawings to manufacture high-quality products.
Problem-solving fabrication challenges and maintaining efficiency in a busy workshop.
Maintaining a good work ethic and contributing to a positive team environment.
