Supported Living Senior Support Worker
Our client Hayward Care Group is a family-run company, managing three services within the care sector. They create tailored care plans to suit each individual, enabling them to lead the life they choose.
A driving license and access to your own vehicle is essential. You must be able to work weekends, evenings, early mornings, and be fully flexible.
They are looking for an experienced and qualified Supported Living Senior, to work with individuals with varied needs and disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with challenging behaviours associated with autism and learning/physical disabilities. They should hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or be willing to achieve this qualification.
You would be required to work alternate weekends and evenings, with full flexibility in your working hours. The role requires you to work five days a week. Your time will be split between administrative tasks and direct support work with clients, varying depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading by example in delivering hands-on care to clients, including personal care, medication, day-to-day tasks, activities, and assisting with appointments/excursions.
* Available for 'on-call' shifts as required.
* Cooperating with Hayward Community Living to comply with Health and Safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection guidelines.
* Participating in required training.
* Conducting spot checks, medication competencies, team meetings/supervisions, and carrying out audits.
* Attending client reviews, appointments, and meetings with relevant professionals.
* Ordering medication, managing stock counts, and handling general medication administration for clients.
* Addressing any safeguarding issues that may arise.
* Completing Support Worker duties as required.
Essential Requirements:
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft programs and other IT tools/apps.
* Full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
* Previous experience in support work.
* Fully flexible with working hours/days.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and problem-solve effectively.
* Strong communication skills.
* Two ex-employer references.
* Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, using initiative when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care.
* Previous experience in a senior role.
* Full flexibility to cover shifts at short notice.
