Job Advert: Quality Technician

We are currently seeking a Quality Technician to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis. As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out all practical work relating to Quality Control. Your role will involve testing ingredients and finished products, conducting organoleptic testing, ensuring compliance with quality and food safety criteria, and releasing ingredients and finished products based on confirmed compliance.

To excel in this role, you should have a good understanding of the role of Quality in the food industry and possess excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Teamwork and communication skills are essential, as you will be working closely with other team members, customers, and suppliers.

Previous experience in the flavour industry and knowledge/experience of using internal IT/LIMS databases systems are highly desirable. However, full training will be provided, and we encourage candidates with a background in the food industry, particularly in a quality role, to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and carry out all quality tests in accordance with Quality Control test methods and procedures.
Thoroughly check all results obtained from analyses against specifications.
Communicate any non-conformance to the relevant parties and recommend necessary corrective actions.
Record and store all test results and additional data in an easily accessible manner.
Release finished products and raw materials on the AX system, ensuring correct paperwork.
Complete retest programmes, arrange micro samples, and follow up with suppliers regarding non-conformances.
Conduct internal factory audits and support in the investigation of customer complaints.
Suggest improvements in equipment, techniques, and evaluation based on day-to-day operations.Requirements:

Understanding of the role of Quality in the food industry.
Good attention to detail and accuracy.
Teamwork and communication skills.
Previous experience in the flavour industry (highly desirable).
Knowledge/experience of using internal IT/LIMS databases systems (highly desirable).
Knowledge of the food industry, particularly in a quality role (full training will be provided).
Ability to work safely and observe company and departmental safety rules.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
