Trainee Surveyor / Estimator:

An exciting opportunity has arisen, suitable for an individual with ambition and attention to detail, to join an accomplished commercial team as a Trainee Estimator. This role will ideally suit someone who an understanding of construction materials and will be office based with occasional site visits.

* Salary: £24,000
* Hours of work: 7.30am - 5pm

Roles and Responsibilities:

Use specialist software to carry out drawing measures (take off's).
Use specialist software to create quotes and various pricing exercises.
Use various spreadsheets for tender management and data control.
Working in partnership with our internal contract management, construction and head office teams.
Help ensure projects are completed in line with projected budgets.
Forecast the costs associated with varying projects using highly detailed software and company knowledge.
Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation.
Monitor changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly.
Liaise with the client and other construction professionals such as site managers, project managers and site engineers.
Help to select and/or source construction materials.
Create and present reports as requested.
Be willing to work in an office environment. Experience, Qualifications & Person Specification

A good eye for detail is important.
Good work ethic and determination to succeed.
Experience of MS Excel and Word is essential.
Building industry experience would be beneficial.
Have strong communication skills.
Be able to work on their own initiative but remembering at all times they are working as part of a team.
Possess a clean UK driving licence and the ability to commute to head office location
