We are looking for a Gage/Quality Technician. This position is integral in supporting manufacturing operations, tracking, and managing the gauges used in automotive manufacturing. In addition, you will work with quality engineers each day to conduct gauge correlation studies and confirm the gauges comply with standards. Our employees are well compensated and are eligible for health care ensure and paid time off.
Responsibilities:
Prepare calibration reports certificates and maintain calibration data and history using our tracking system
Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
Perform gauge and capability studies on new gages
Track gauge repair history, costs of premature failing non-calibrated gauges, and obtain quotes for cost-effective repairs
Make recommendations on calibration frequency based on data
Manage vendor relationships
Complete monthly layered audit of floor gauges
Assist the plant in troubleshooting any issues for the floor CMMs and gauge failures
Calibrate, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure conformance with established Standard Operating Procedures
Coordinated equipment calibration services with multiple facilities and vendors
Train personnel on gaging techniques and measurements
Requirements
2-year degree in a related field or high school diploma with equivalent experience preferred
Able to work with little to no supervision and ability to multitask
Skilled at using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and measuring devices
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
Good written, and oral communication skills, and advanced computer skills
Ability to work well with others, always exhibiting teamwork
Demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic skills, gauging methods, terminology, and mechanical drawings
Comply with all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment, including always wearing the proper PPE, safely handling materials, tools, and chemicals, and reporting unsafe work conditions or equipment immediately
Successfully pass the required pre-employment background check and drug screen
