Job Description
Are you a planner? Do you manage your To-Do list like a pro? (Be honest – how many times today have you already reorganized it?) Are you the one that keeps a cool head when everything around is going crazy? Are you the person we all want in our group for any group project? If so, David Weekley Homes is seeking a Project Manager to join our team!
We are specifically looking for a Project Manager to oversee the planning and execution of large-scale business process projects across multiple teams. This position is not for a Product Owner or Scrum Master.
This person will work closely with team members across the company at all levels to:
Develop and maintain comprehensive business project plans – including project scope, objectives, deliverables, resource allocation and timelines
Coordinate project activities and lead project teams to ensure timely delivery of milestones and objectives
Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategy to keep projects on track
Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical to ensure alignment and transparency
Prepare and deliver project status updates and performance metrics to leadership Team
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project delivery process and enhance overall efficiency of the Information Services Team
Research, document, and analyze business processes and requirements across the company
Use data-driven approach to identify trends and recommend improvements to business processes
The Candidate
We are looking for:
Is experienced in leading large-scale business process projects – specifically project planning and management from start to finish
Is highly organized – able to keep track of project timelines, deliverables, and resources to meet project deadlines, able to juggle multiple – sometimes competing - priorities
Is a strong leader who effectively delegates tasks and inspires the project team to deliver results without directly managing the individual Team Members
Is an excellent communicator able to clearly convey expectations, give feedback and resolve conflicts; comfortable communicating to management and asking for assistance when needed; strong verbal and written communication skills – in person and virtually
Is able to quickly adapt and change courses as needed to overcome project delays
Is able to anticipate potential opportunities and issues and proactively prepares potential solutions
Is able to visualize how different business processes interact and develop strategies to leverage the common components
Is comfortable asking questions to uncover what’s working, what’s not working, and what would make our business operate more efficiently
Is willing to explore and learn parts of the business you may not already know
Is a great listener – both to direct and indirect feedback from the team
Is an engaging presenter – able to sell ideas with facts and benefits
Willing to learn through experiences and involvement in business processes
The Position
You will be required to:
Develop and maintain project plans – pulling together resources from across the IT Team (and occasionally beyond) to deliver project objectives in a timely manner
Organize Project Team resources and keep projects moving with specific deadlines and deliverables
Regularly communicate with Project Team to provide guidance, direction and support
Plan, organize and host in-person and virtual project meetings with the Project Team and Stakeholders as needed
Communicate project progress, potential obstacles and recommended solution to management Team
Develop and organize project documentation – working with Business Process Analysts, User Experience Designers, Product Owners, and Implementation Specialists
Define quality standards for project deliverables and ensure that standards are met as project proceeds towards completion
Understand detailed project requirements and how the project supports the overall strategy of the company
Gathering consensus on recommendations – follow up on feedback as needed
Limited business travel may be required
