Job Description

ITW Hartness is looking for a Summer 2025 Manufacturing Engineering Intern. The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will focus on improving the outcomes of various processes so that, by mapping all the inputs and outputs of a defined business process, a Manufacturing Engineer Intern is able to recommend ways to improve efficiency, reduce cost or increase customer satisfaction. The Manufacturing Engineer intern develops and measures standard metrics, develops a project plan for implementing improvements and monitors the new process to ensure it works as intended, works with front-line staff and trains employees on continuous improvement subjects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyzing and reporting quantitative data

Generating and reviewing SOPs

Utilizing lean manufacturing tools to assist in preparing detailed layouts of plant facilities to optimize material handling and product flow

Position will act as the primary resource for investigating, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for any process problems

Coordinating successful kaizen events with quantified success including assessment and effective sustainment of standard work

Coaching and training operational supervisors and staff to apply, support, sustain and develop a Continuous Improvement culture
