Mechanical Site Manager

Client Overview:
Our client is a leading M&E company delivering large-scale mechanical and electrical services across various sectors, with a particular focus on residential developments. They manage a diverse portfolio, from high-rise apartment complexes to large housing estates, providing comprehensive installation, maintenance, and emergency services. The company is known for its high standards, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering successful, safe, and on-budget projects for their clients.

Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Site Manager with a residential background, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of mechanical projects within residential developments on behalf of our client. Your role will involve managing multiple sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with the client’s engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to deliver top-quality mechanical services.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan, schedule, and manage mechanical projects from inception to completion, ensuring all work meets the client’s high standards.

* Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery and clear communication across teams.

* Ensure mechanical works adhere to client specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, managing costs in conjunction with the client’s Commercial Manager.

* Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting site inspections and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.

* Provide regular project updates and progress reports to the client, attending meetings as necessary.

* Monitor project progress, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met while addressing any unexpected delays or issues.

* Manage the day-to-day site operations, ensuring effective oversight of Site Supervisors and on-site performance.

* Design and prepare quotations for residential heating, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

* Promote and uphold health and safety standards across all project sites.

* Provide comprehensive reports to senior management, highlighting progress, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Qualifications:

* Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or certifications.

* SMSTS/SSSTS certification – Essential.

* Experience working on residential mechanical systems, including heating, plumbing, and ventilation.

Key Skills:

* Strong leadership and communication skills, essential for managing teams and maintaining client relationships.

* Excellent problem-solving skills for managing on-site issues and ensuring smooth project completion.

* Ability to lead and motivate teams under pressure, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.

* Strong commercial awareness to manage project costs effectively.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools for efficient task coordination.

Experience:

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager in the residential sector.

* A successful track record of managing and delivering residential mechanical projects.

* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Special Requirements:

* Full UK driving license – Preferred.

* Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

* Flexibility to work outside of standard hours to meet project requirements.
