Job Title: Senior Care Assistant
Location: Mental Health Nursing Home, Ilkley
Hourly Rate: £14 per hour
Hours: Full-Time, Combination of Days and Nights / 8am to 8pm - 8pm to 8am

Are you an experienced care professional with a passion for mental health? We are looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join our team at a specialist Mental Health Nursing Home in Ilkley.

About the Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our residents, supporting their mental and physical well-being. You will lead a team of care assistants to ensure that all care is delivered in line with individual care plans, promoting dignity, respect, and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering person-centered care to residents with mental health needs, including assistance with daily living activities.
Supervising and supporting care assistants, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
Administering medication and assisting in the development and review of care plans.
Monitoring the health and well-being of residents, reporting any changes to the nursing team.
Supporting residents with social, emotional, and physical needs, encouraging participation in activities.
Promoting a safe and positive environment within the home.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a senior care role, preferably within a mental health setting.
A caring and empathetic nature, with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with mental health needs.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
Flexibility to work a combination of day and night shifts.
