Overview:

Astral of Franklin, is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead our start-up operations! This role is pivotal in meeting occupancy and sales goals, managing strategic marketing, planning, sales management, and ensuring the financial viability of the community.

As the Executive Director, you will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Franciscan Advisory Services (FAS) standards and practices. Your leadership will maintain a sound financial position for the community while emphasizing quality standards and creating strong partnerships with the local community.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership: Achieve organizational, financial, and quality objectives. Ensure service lines and programs are responsive to resident needs and deliver quality care effectively and economically.

Resident Relations: Establish and maintain an effective collaborative relationship with residents through the residents' council and its committees.

Policy Development: Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures that reflect community goals and objectives.

Resident Rights: Ensure residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, privacy, property, and civil rights are maintained.

Public Relations: Establish and maintain a public relations program that serves the best interests of the community.

Healthcare Collaboration: Maintain a working relationship with medical professionals and other health-related facilities and organizations through formal agreements where appropriate.

Department Oversight: Meet with department supervisors to address operational issues and improve services.

Economic Monitoring: Stay abreast of economic conditions and make necessary adjustments to ensure continued quality resident care.

Budget Management: Prepare an annual operating budget, analyze resident charges, and recommend timely rate adjustments based on market conditions.

Financial Reporting: Ensure financial records and cost reports are submitted to authorized government agencies as required.

External Representation: Represent the community in dealings with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third-party payers.

Marketing Support: Assist in external marketing endeavors to promote the community and grow the potential lead/referral base for each level of care.

Delegation: Delegate authority, responsibility, and accountability to department heads.

Professional Development: Attend educational workshops, seminars, and meetings to stay current with changes in healthcare and maintain professional status.

Community Maintenance: Ensure the community is maintained in a clean and safe manner for resident comfort and convenience.

Resident and Family Liaison: Plan and maintain adequate liaison with residents and families.

Leadership Program Participation: Actively participate in the FAS Leadership program and fulfill mandatory educational elements.

Other Duties: Perform other related duties as directed by FAS executive leadership.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in the applicable area of study, Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience: 5 years of relevant long-term care managerial experience in IL, AL, and MC, start-up experience; 5-10 years preferred.

Knowledge: Strong knowledge of employment law, including federal and state regulations.

Licensure: Indiana Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
