Overview:

The Security Officer assists with the continuous surveillance of hospital facilities and grounds. Working under close supervision, this role helps to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Facilities Services

Talent Pool: Facilities Services 

Responsibilities:

Helps to control access to hospital facilities to ensure that only authorized people enter and leave the premises.

Assists with patrolling hospital areas to respond to incidents, thefts, and accidents as they arise.

Documents daily activities and events for reporting of the departmental activities to the Director.

Helps coordinate responses to motor vehicle assistance needs and escalated conflicts to serve customers with courteous interactions.

Supports the locking and unlocking campus offices, rooms, and buildings to allow entry and exit for authorized people.

Intervenes in altercations (verbal and physical) that may include patients, visitors, and/or staff to find a safe resolution.

Supports Morgue Services staff on security-related tasks as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

Required: 6 months

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:

Required:

Valid Driver's License (if driving a Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must be approved by Risk Management)

Completion of a STARR de-escalation training program; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
