Overview:

The Cage Wash Technician is responsible for providing support to Inotiv’s research facility. This includes daily sanitization and preparation of laboratory equipment, including operation of a large bulk rack washer. Individuals must demonstrate strong communication skills and be able to work efficiently in individual and team settings.

Pay Range: $20 - $22 / hour

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.  The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level. This is a non-exempt role paying $20-22/hour.

Responsibilities:

Daily operation and maintenance of a commercial cagewasher

Cleans and sanitizes cages, cage lids, water bottles, and ancillary animal housing supplies and equipment (racks, feed bins) in accordance with SOPs

Cleans cagewash facility, food and bedding storage area, access rooms, and associated Vivarium equipment to maintain facility in neat and orderly condition

Prepares housing animals materials to include cages, water bottles, animal feed, metabolic racks and other ancillary equipment

Sanitizes all deliveries (animal crates, equipment, materials, feed, bedding, etc.)

Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School Diploma

College courses in Animal Science or Husbandry or equivalent professional experience are highly desirable

0-3 years of work experience

Computer proficiency (E-mail, Microsoft Word and Excel)

Work will require PPE (personal protective equipment)

Ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently

Good teamwork skills

Ability to communicate effectively
