Position: Operations Manager

Location: Colton, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm

Now hiring for a Operations Manager based out of our Colton, CA Dedicated office. This is a full-time opportunity. Transportation experience is a prerequisite for this role.

Summary:

Position is at the very center of a fast-paced strategic environment. The Operations Managers is required to hire and develop people and plan ahead of rapidly changing situations while creating and maintaining a productive culture throughout the division/account. Person must be organized, proactive, and engaged with his or her peers and subordinates.

Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities:

Position will manage a variety of departments and be responsible for multiple day-to-day aspects of the Division’s operations. Additionally, the Position troubleshoots areas of operational concern, evaluates and if necessary creates better processes in the interest of operational efficiency.

Manage direct and indirect reports to including hiring, training, development, payroll, performance management and termination.

Working with multiple individuals, departments, and divisions at once.

Fleet production, ensuring all assets and drivers have sufficient miles to reach revenue goals

Manage 50+ drivers and direct fleet/account management day-to-day operations. May manage drivers through Fleet Managers or Logistics Coordinators.

Dispatch drivers to ensure on-time delivery and advising on weather conditions.

Coordinate with drivers to swap loads as necessary

Track drivers, loads, and receivers

Deal with multiple customers and their different special requirements at once

Working with Load Planners, Driver Managers, Account Managers, Maintenance and Service Advisors and others within the company.

Negotiate situations to meet expectations of customers, company and drivers.

Identify logistical problems and implement solutions.

Plan future workload

Conflict resolution

Handle urgent situations in a professional manner.

Schedule/ re-schedule appointments with customers

Multi-task as necessary

This job is demanding and requires one to be patient, proactive, and professional.

Qualifications:

Essential job requirements may include, but not be limited to:

Recognize areas of operational concern, develop processes, and coach employees to better suit the needs of CR England and the division.

Must be a self-starter with time management skills requiring minimum supervision.

Be willing and capable of taking on and working through the duties of his or her subordinates when needed.

Must be a hands-on working manager who can motivate others.

In a Dedicated environment, may have more interaction with customer or even be located on customer’s site. Must be able to communicate professionally and work to solve customer concerns while balancing business needs and resources.

Keep company leadership informed of project priorities and any issues that may require their attention.

Work with other department leaders to establish goals, align priorities and define departmental processes.

Treat each individual with care, dignity, fairness, respect and recognition.

Work productively and collaboratively with direct supervisor and peers.

Display and encourage teamwork and willingness to be a problem solver.

Practice and observe safety rules and regulations and encourage others to do so at all times.

Always conduct yourself in a manner that reflects a positive, professional image. Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with dress code policies.

Adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth by the company and ensure that all employees are knowledgeable of and adhere to all standards set for by the company.
