Coastal Waste & Recycling is experiencing explosive growth and with growth comes opportunity. We are currently looking for laborers to work as recycling sorters. Responsibilities:
Essential functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
Inspect materials and categorize them into designated piles or containers for proper disposal or recycling
Perform general cleaning and maintenance task in the facility
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
Deposit recoverable materials safely and efficiently into appropriate chute.
Maintain and efficient flow on the conveyor belt
Exhibit the ability to distinguish between various recyclable materials.
Ensure that all required personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn
Demonstrate and adhere to all company core values
Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor

Ability to follow verbal or written instructions
Flexibility and adaptability
Customer service skills
Teamwork
Safety Awareness
Supervisory responsibilities

Work environment and hours
Shifts may vary Monday-Saturday
40+ hours a week
Work sites with dust, debris, and loud noise
Physical demands

Must be able to safely lift and move 50lbs or more at a time
Prolonged physical exertions, including standing. reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and climbing
Qualifications:
Travel required

Required education and experience
One year professional experience
Preferred education and experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)
Waste industry experience
