STAFF INFORMATION SECURITY ENGINEER - AI GPU

THE TEAM:

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with our AI based Graphic Processors. THE ROLE:  

As a key member of the Cluster Platform Engineering (CPE) team, the Information Security Engineer will implement and provide support for operations of CPE-controlled Firewalls (WAF / NGFW), Proxies, Load Balancers, IPS / IDS, SIEM, SOAR and other technologies.  The security engineer will ensure appropriate security controls and monitoring are in place by coordinating with AMD Enterprise Security, project teams, users and company partners.  This role will also have a responsibility to respond to, triage, and coordinate vulnerability remediation scans and reports, either from CPE-controlled or AMD Enterprise Security scanning tools. This role is also responsible for creation of security-related documentation and artifacts, such as SSPs to clearly document and communicate the security posture of CPE infrastructure with the stakeholders mentioned above.

  

THE PERSON:  

The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with AMD’s business units, project teams, and Enterprise Security to design and support implementation of effective security strategies and solutions to secure critical CPE infrastructure.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will provide guidance and expertise to ensure alignment with AMD security policies, business risk tolerance and industry best practices.  They will be responsible for liaising between CPE, project teams, IT, and Information Security Teams to promote adoption of enterprise security solutions and processes.  

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Create and maintain security infrastructure that follows industry best practices including a high level of availability and ease of user access.

Work with cross-functional stakeholders to define and communicate cyber security requirements to the business in alignment with AMD policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.  

Evaluate and develop systems to enhance our security posture while reducing overall digital security risk.

Lead IT infrastructure integrations with Enterprise IT and partners from a security perspective.

Create and maintain security documentation and artifacts, e.g., System Security Plan (SSP), architecture diagrams, vulnerability assessment and network traffic dashboards/reports.

Maintain awareness of industry security threats and respond to security incidents.

Assess risk and vulnerabilities of the systems, storage, and network – Scanning, Remediation, OSH Hardening.

Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of security infrastructure

Build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships and trust with key stakeholders across business units and corporate areas (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Information Security, Information Technology, etc.). 

  

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

At least 5 years experience in the information security industry

Detailed technical experience in the installation, configuration and operation of high-end firewall appliances, including multi-site and multi-device configuration management

Strong TCP/IP networking skills and solid understanding of TCP/IP stack.

Strong understanding of core internet protocols and applications.

Extensive knowledge of different security threats.

Patch Management of security systems.

Experience in high technology industry, technology engineering, or semi-conductor is preferable.

Must be familiar with cloud-based enterprise security technologies.

Must maintain knowledge of latest security, technology trends and predictions.

Able to effectively communicate, interact and influence business stakeholders.

Ability to deliver innovative solutions and consistently demonstrate business-focused outcomes.

Have working knowledge of information security and risk frameworks/standards (e.g., ISO 27001/2, NIST SP 800-53, NIST CSF).

Possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to adapt information based on the audience.

Problem solving ability and strong analytical skills. 

  

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

BS/MS preferred.   

Professional security certifications desirable, e.g., SANS, MCSE, RHCSS, CISSP, CISA, CISM
