Responsibilities:

Summary

The Business Development Manager manages GEO Reentry’s research and analysis of new and existing markets, trends, competition, product mix, and other areas with the goal of generating new business leads/contracts and helping ensure retention of existing contracts.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager is responsible for overseeing development of a plan for generating new business development prospects to include understanding market and industry trends to identify and prioritize new business development opportunities and researching viable solutions to agency needs.

Responsible for development and maintenance of a GEO Reentry Business Development strategic plan to include goals, value proposition (in general and by customer), market targets by service line and region, and how we differentiate ourselves from our competitors.

The Business Development Manager presents recommendations to Business Development and/or the division on how to respond to the market conditions based on research and analysis conducted.

The Business Development Manager oversees business case analysis of potential growth opportunities.

Reports industry trends and recommends how the company may want to respond.

Provides strategic input on proposal responses, oral presentations, customer outcome reports, and other materials to ensure GEO is most effectively meeting customer needs and articulating our approach in a compelling and seamless manner.

Responsible for providing support for bid review, press release review, and case studies.

Maintains industry and product knowledge. Informs senior management of changing market conditions.

Oversees and handles the administration of Salesforce and other software platforms.

Provides regular status reports on business development activities to senior management.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Criminal Justice, Communications or related field.

Experience in working with the correctional or criminal justice systems or selling services to the government or similar agencies is preferred.

Five (5) years of experience in sales management, including government sales and account management.

Strategic business development or sales account planning skills.

In-depth knowledge of corrections industry and industry trends.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with internal and external executives and other high levels of the organization.

Possess strong relationship management qualities and experience in team leadership, coordination and collaboration skills.

Solid business acumen, management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated public presentation skills when working with local government and community representatives.

High degree of initiative and independent judgment.

Strong project management, business writing and reporting skills.

Ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior level executives

Proficient in MS Office Software, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Understanding of government funding and payor systems.

Ability to identify and implement value added services/technology attractive to customers (e.g. electronic health record, case management systems).

Proven ability to drive cross functional projects.

Ability to travel 50% or as required.
